                  Regulations for use of the Herbert Charles Hunter Memorial Masonic Temple

 

1. The Rental Committee will be charged with the responsibility of; extinguishing all lights, inside and outside; with opening and locking of the inside and outside doors; the setting of heating and air conditioning controls to the temperature posted; and will provide a point of contact to call in the event of an emergency.

 

2.  The applicant on behalf of any group he or she represents will assume full responsibility for any damage to lodge property which may result from such use.  The applicant must be 21 years of age or older. Security deposits are required in advance from applicants to cover damages or cleaning expenses, and may be forfeited to cover such expenses.

 

3.  In case of cancellation or termination of rental agreement, the Lodge Rental Chairman should be notified immediately.  The security deposit will be forfeited if the lodge is not rented during that time requested.

 

4.  Under no circumstances are intoxicants of any kind to be brought to any portion of the temple building or property.

 

5.  No decorations or banners will be attached inside or outside the building without approval of the Springfield Lodge Rental Committee.

 

6.  All evening activities must be terminated in time to have the building properly secured and lights out by midnight, except when special permission has been received from the Springfield Lodge Rental Committee.

 

7.  All activities will be confined to the area reserved.  If youth are present, they must be properly supervised by adult leaders from the time the first person arrives until the last person leaves.  On departure, the premises shall be restored, as near as possible, to the same condition as it was found before use, and the renter will remove all items brought into the lodge. A walk through by the renter is suggested before and after using the facilities.

 

8.  To avoid attracting mice, roaches and ants DO NOT LEAVE any food items of any description in the building following rental hours.  ALL trash is to be put in appropriate containers and placed in outside trash receptacles.  Each Masonic organization is responsible for seeing that soiled dish cloths and towels, used by them, are laundered, returned and properly put away.

 

9.  No food or beverage, except those needed for ritualistic work, is allowed in the lodge room.

 

10.  Smoking is permitted only in uncarpeted areas.

 

11.  The use of smoke machines, glitter, confetti and raw rice is prohibited.

 

12.  There will be NO use of the kitchen facilities without specific permission of Springfield Lodge Rental Committee and such use must be specified in the rental agreement and appropriate fees paid.

 

13.  All renters will use their own property, tools, materials, etc. and will not disturb, move, or use any goods belonging to others, except when authorized by the rental committee. If approved, all property shall be returned to its proper place after use.

 

14.  The number of people occupying the lodge room or social hall will be limited to the number shown on the hazardous use permit.
